Let's start from the beginning!
Each tooth is made up of a crown and a root. The root provides a strong support for the tooth and stabilizes the jawbone – lack of a tooth causes bone atrophy. The consequence of these pathological changes is the unfavorable migration of teeth – both the neighboring and those in the opposite arch – the opposing teeth. The above processes result in irreversible destructive changes in the occlusion and aesthetic defects (e.g. broken or cracked enamel).
An implant is an ‘artificial root’ which, for a new tooth, acts as an anchor in the bone and protects the bone tissue from progressive degradation. In appearance, it resembles a small ” screw” made of pure medical titanium. It is to such elements that prosthetic crowns or bridges – your “new teeth” – are later attached!
Only materials that are tolerated by the human body are used, such as pure titanium or zirconium oxide. The special surface of the implants allows an optimal connection with the bone cells – the implant fuses with the jawbone.
ARE IMPLANTS ALSO A SOLUTION FOR ME?
Before starting treatment, there is always an individual and informative medical consultation, during which you will be presented with all the possible treatment options. We put emphasis on a thorough examination of the bone condition in the oral cavity, which is the basis for the precise planning of the implant treatment. A COMPLETE set of radiographs is taken, on the basis of which we plan the treatment. Depending on the selected therapy variant, an individual treatment plan is created for you and the expected time of its realization is determined. The subject of costs associated with the planned treatment and the stages of finalization of payment will also be discussed in detail with each patient
When can implants be used as a treatment option?

It happens that some people are born with a deficiency in the number of teeth. The absence of wisdom teeth is not unusual and does not affect the aesthetics of smile or the functionality of chewing food. On the other hand, some children do not develop anterior teeth such as canines – with consequent functional limitations and aesthetic defects. Once implants are chosen as the target treatment method, the spaces left by the missing teeth are maintained orthodontically until the jaw growth processes are complete. Around the age of 18, implants are placed in the spaces of missing teeth. The smile gains an extremely aesthetic and natural appearance, which, with proper hygiene, can serve the patient undamaged for a lifetime.
UNCERTAIN SMILE
Decayed teeth in the anterior segment are aesthetically unacceptable. Their restoration, in this smile-sensitive area, must be natural and completely unobtrusive. An implant with a ceramic crown combines natural aesthetics with high resistance to stress caused by chewing. This design makes it possible to COMPLETE the patient’s new smile without the need to prepare healthy teeth, also allowing the risk of major bone loss to be reduced.
WHEN THERE ARE NO TEETH TO CHEW
The absence of teeth in the posterior segment of the dental arch (molars) is referred to as winged absence. The absence of molars results in difficult chewing and very often serious consequences for the remaining teeth and the surrounding periodontal tissues. Front teeth in particular are prone to wear and fracture as they become overloaded when taking over the function of the molars. A removable partial denture with metal clasps (“clasp dentures”) replaces missing teeth, but often causes discomfort due to the presence of a foreign object in the mouth. Reconstruction without dentures that cause difficulties in use is possible with bridges or crowns fitted on implants.
WHEN A PROSTHESIS GETS ON YOUR NERVES
Not an uncommon problem is the difficulty of maintaining complete dentures in case of our seniors, people of advanced age who lost their teeth in the distant past. The mobility of the dentures affects their chewing comfort and well-being, which can consequently lead to gastrointestinal disorders and even depression. The insertion of a limited number of implants (e.g. two), even under unfavorable conditions in the cavity, allows the prosthesis to be stabilized, significantly improving the comfort of life for these patients. Advanced age is not a contraindication for implants, and quality of life is worth improving at any age.
What are the advantages of having implants?
Perfect, natural aesthetics, functionality and phonetics unaffected by missing teeth.
